The EdW is a scheme for the protection of the claims of investors created by the Einlagensicherungs- und Anlegerentschädigungsgesetz [German Deposit Guarantee and Investor Compensation Act] of 16 July 1998 that – with a public mission - carries out the compensation of investors and protects liabilities arising from securities transactions up to 90% of their value, however not more than 20,000 euros per creditor.
